Sapporo Factory is a large shopping center constructed on the original site of the Sapporo Brewery, which was built in 1876 and has roots that trace back to the Hokkaido Development Commission Brewery. The seven brick buildings from the brewery days and enormous atrium are now home to approximately 160 shops and restaurants, as well as a movie theater.
The atrium is the symbol of Sapporo Factory—it's decorated to suit each season and serves as the venue for many events. Sapporo Factory is always lively and teeming with visitors.
