While retaining its main building—an important cultural property—Nihombashi Takashimaya Shopping Center opened a new building in September 2018. In March 2019, Takashimaya also celebrated the grand re-opening of its main building as a brand-new metropolitan shopping center.
Based on the concept of "beautiful living style," Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. consists of four wings: the new building with over 100 specialty stores, the main building featuring culturally valuable department stores and specialty stores, the east wing housing Pokémon Center Tokyo DX and Pokémon Café, and Takashimaya's Watch Maison Tokyo, proudly assembling the world's largest collection of watches and watch goods.
There is also a rooftop garden in the main building, providing an oasis of relaxation in the middle of central Tokyo.
