Americamura, or American Village, was born in the 1970s when a shop owner converted an old warehouse into a shop selling vintage clothing, jeans, used records and knick knacks from the West Coast of the USA. The media picked up on the phenomenon and began introducing the area as Americamura.
Today, each shop continues to sell specialty goods. Aside from great shopping, the inspired fashion of young people, imaginative artwork and peculiar architecture of this unique area will also keep you entertained.
When night falls on Americamura, the people who work there and aspiring young musicians, designers and dancers gather at bars and clubs throughout the lively area. Day or night, Americamura is exciting and purely Osaka!
