In the sweeping grounds covering 260 hectares you will find a Japanese Garden, facilities where you can get in touch with nature, the National Museum of Ethnology and a variety of recreation facilities, including sporting facilities.
We especially recommend visiting during cherry blossom season, as the park was selected as one of the 100 best places for cherry blossoms in Japan and boasts about 5,500 trees of nine different varieties. The trees begin blossoming in middle of March and continue to blossom, turning the entire park pink. You can see the trees illuminated at night at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
