Unique temple based on the ancient Buddhist temples of India and Asia
A temple of Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha Buddhism. The main hall was reconstructed in 1934. The stone exterior is based on the ancient Buddhist temples of India and Asia, while the interior is a traditional Shinshu temple.
It is a creative temple with the main hall carved with a variety of peculiar animals, and a pipe organ inside, used to spread Buddhism through music. In 2014 the temple's main hall, stone wall and gate posts were designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
