Time from the hotel: Train and walkapprox. 18 minutes

Tsutenkaku is recognized as the symbol of Osaka. The first Tsutenkaku opened on July 3, 1912. The current, second incarnation of Tsutenkaku was completed in 1956, and in 2007 it was designated as a national tangible cultural asset.

The 103-meter-high tower holds a collection of distinctively Osaka shops and diorama displays. Alongside the 94.5-meter-high observation deck at the top, observation platforms are spread over three floors. The observation platforms offer views across Osaka, and you can overlook Mount Ikoma and Mount Rokko in the distance.

The area of Shinsekai sprawls around the base of Tsutenkaku, where you can visit a kushi-katsu shop along Jan Jan Yokocho or enjoy the nostalgic sights of Osaka.
