Soba noodles are made from buckwheat and representative of Japanese cuisine, alongside sushi and tempura. They can be eaten hot or cold, and the soup served with soba often has a different depth based on location. Soba became popular in the Edo Period, and in Japan, it is a customary dish on New Year's Eve and after moving house.
Yakiniku is barbecued meat (beef, chicken, or pork) dipped in a special sauce. Yakiniku restaurants generally also serve fish, vegetables, soup and cold noodles.
